Who is Linda?
Linda Lavin won a Tony Award, as well as Drama Desk, Outer Critics’ and Helen Hayes Awards, for her performance in Broadway Bound in 1987.
Today, in addition to her ongoing starring roles on Broadway and in Television and film, Linda performs her concert act with Billy Stritch, her music director, and her husband Steve Bakunas at the drums, and has released her first CD «Possibilities», an album of jazz standards and show tunes.
Throughout the country, Linda has entertained sold out houses with her many concerts- the newest called My First Farewell Concert.
Linda is a six-time Tony nominee for her roles in The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, Collected Stories, The Lyons, and, most recently, Our Mother’s Brief Affair on Broadway for Manhattan Theatre Club.
Other theatre credits include The New Century (Drama Desk Award), Other Desert Cities (LCT), and Too Much Sun (Vineyard Theatre). Lavin is a two-time Golden Globe winner for her role as Alice on the 9 year hit TV series on CBS, and she recently co- starred with Sean Hayes in the NBC Series Sean Saves the World. She appeared with Robert De Niro in Nancy Meyer's The Intern in Fall 2015, currently on DVD. Other film credits include Wanderlust, A Short History of Decay, The Backup Plan, The Muppets Take Manhattan, See You in the Morning... Born in Portland, Maine, a graduate of the College of William & Mary which recently conferred on her an honorary doctor of arts degree, where she endows a theater program. Linda was recently inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame.
