Literally years in the making, our graphic designer André Balastegui from Les Moires inc Montreal took painstaking time to make sure it’s as classy and contemporary as it could be.

We at rj productions are constantly cooking up something fun. We work with so many amazing artist performers and presenters, we can hardly contain our excitement when it comes to sharing.  So look to The Buzz for what’s happening-  updates on who’s performing where…We at rj productions are constantly cooking up something fun. We work with so many amazing artist performers and presenters, we can hardly contain our excitement when it comes to sharing.  So look to The Buzz for what’s happening-  updates on who’s performing where… . thoughts from our staff. pictures representing over 15 years of some of the greatest entertainers and those we all met along the way. Not to many selfies… but just some cool pics.

Rj productions (Rich Aronstein and Jerry Friedman) started in 1999- we thought we could produce a few concerts. We didn’t quite know what we would do- or how.

Rich had presented over 100 benefits in the early 1990’s- focusing on raising money for Aids organizations, such as PWAC, Hearts and Voices and The Gay and Lesbian Community Center. We featured artists like Stephen Schwartz, Andrea Marcovicci, Julie Halston, BD Wong, Margaret Whiting, Julie Wilson, Stiller & Meara, Nancy LaMott and many more at such clubs as The Russian Tea Room and The Ballroom. Jerry Friedman founded Theater Three in Port Jefferson- and produced concerts during his time running the theater.   When we first met at the 92nd Street Y, neither of us knew we’d build a company together.

We sold out our first production- in his theater in Port Jeff- starring James Beaman, Tommy Femia and Steven Brinberg. We were hooked- and we even made money. We spoke to friends Carol Woods, Karen Saunders and Eric Michael Gillett and we reached out to a few Artistic Directors. The Emelin Theater in Westchester seemed interested and gave us the opportunity to try booking some concerts. Carol and Karen, Eric and Melanie Vaughn, Kaye Ballard, Marin Mazzie and Jason Danielly and many more. Before we could say “what are we doing?”, we were recommended to Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington, where for over 10 years, rj Productions booked their Broadway Concert Series, their annual Gala’s and their comedy nights….from Laura Benanti to Paul Reiser.

Over fifteen years later, rj productions has booked and produced hundreds of concerts and worked with some of the greatest stars of TV and the Broadway stage. And it’s come full circle.

In 2017, we have Marin and Jason booked for the former Executive Director of Landmark, now at Tilles Center. Eric directs concerts for one of our biggest selling artists, Jarrod Spector (as well as with Jarrod’s co-concert stars, Jessie Mueller and Kelli Barrett) and for Mandy Gonzalez.   And in 2017, we are excited to bring Carol Woods to a gig in Miramar Florida.

And while we represent an array of fab artists as clients, we also produce great concert series’ throughout the country, which allows us the opportunity to work with artists we do not actually represent…. glorious stars like Brian Stokes Mitchell, Chita Rivera, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Luker, Linda Eder, Norm Lewis, Jeremy Jordan, Jonathan Groff, Tommy Tune, Marin Mazzie & Jason Danielly, The Bacon Brothers, Liza, Robert Klein, Paula Poundstone, Broadway’s hot new composers, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Rita Wilson and so many more.

Rj productions has a very simple philosophy and we rarely stray from it. Work with the kind of talent we want to see over and over…because they’re that good. They have to be respectful and know they are part of a team.   And the same goes for presenters. Presenters have to realize that our goal is to bring to their audiences, the finest talent working today- so that they shine in front of their boards… and their audience.   If you sell them an artist , just for the sake of selling something, and its not worthy, their audience will never come back- and the presenter will never call you again. We are very fortunate that we have worked with the same presenters 4,5,8,12 years in a row. And currently program 5+ concert series. From Long Island’s Guild Hall and New York’s Feinstein’s/54 Below to Palm Beach’s Duncan Theater and Scottsdale Performing Arts Center, rj is thrilled to have such long term relationships.

Audiences today have less money to spend and they’re very choosy. Same goes for us.   The most discerning audiences only appreciate the most talented artists. And for rj productions, it’s all about Broadway’s brightest!

Welcome to rj productions. Please visit us often!
