Daniel Reichard, the original Bob Gaudio in the Tony-Award-winning Jersey Boys, played the title role of Candide in the 2008 New York City Opera production and starred in the theatrical premier of Jim Henson’s Emett Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas in 2008. In 2009, Daniel co-starred in the NYMF musical The Happy Embalmer.
Daniel attended the prestigious University of Michigan School of Music, where he trained in music and theatre. Shortly after arriving in New York City four years later, he landed his first job at his first audition. Daniel spent time honing his craft at such regional theatres as the Goodspeed Opera House and North Shore Music Theatre before returning to NYC to star in Forbidden Broadway: 20th Anniversary Celebration.
Shortly after his “Forbidden” role, Daniel was cast as artist Keith Haring in the Public Theater’s Radient Baby directed by Tony-award-winning George C. Wolfe. Daniel then created many characters in The Thing About Men at the Promenade Theatre.
Since opening on Broadway in JERSEY BOYS, Daniel has performed at Carnegie Hall, has sung the national anthem at Yankee Stadium and at the starting line at the New York City Marathon. He sang “Oh What a Night” on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years Eve and appeared in many concerts over the past four years. In New York City, he has had sold-out engagements at Joe’s Pub, the Metropolitan Room, Ars Nova, and the Cutting Room.
In concert, Daniel offers various shows; ranging from rock and pop to the Great American Songbook.
SUMMER MIX TAPE is a nostalgic fun mini-tribute to the making of mix tapes. Accompanied by a rock band, Daniel performs classic rock songs (Hermans Hermits, Cyndi Lauper), celebrating the carefree days of summer. His more traditional evening features such Great American Songbook composers as Gershwin and Johnny Mercer.
Also available is CHRISTMAS IN BLACK AND WHITE The show reflects the feeling you get from watching those classic black-and-white Christmas specials featuring American classic songs. As the evening progresses, the show turns to color, and a celebration of the holiday season begins.
“a clear tenor and a good belter, Reichard injected a considerable amount of his own hi-octane fuel into his renditions.”
