TELLY LEUNG was born in New York City and grew up in a traditional Chinese home in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Television audiences will remember Telly as Wes, the Dalton Academy Warbler, in Fox’s hit series GLEE. Broadway audiences will recognize his most recent starring role on Broadway, as Sammy Kimura in ALLEGIANCE opposite George Takei & Lea Salonga - for which his performances was lauded as a «star turn.» (NBC-NY), and «the performance of his Broadway career» (The Examiner).

Telly made his Broadway debut in the 2002 revival of Flower Drum Song. Telly would later work with the legendary Stephen Sondheim in Roundabout’s revival of PACIFIC OVERTURES in 2005.

After PACIFIC OVERTURES, Telly originated the role of Boq in the Chicago company of WICKED, collaborating with fellow CMU-alum, Stephen Schwartz. Other Broadway credits include the final company of RENT – where he also got to make his film debut in Radical Media / Sony’s RENT: FILMED LIVE ON BROADWAY.

After RENT ended its Broadway run, Telly went on an international tour with original RENT stars Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp in RENT: THE BROADWAY TOUR.

He would later reprise the role of Angel in RENT at the Hollywood Bowl, directed by Neil Patrick Harris and starring Vanessa Hudgens, Aaron Tveit, Skylar Astin, & Wayne Brady. In 2011, Telly would get another opportunity to collaborate with composer Stephen Schwartz in the Broadway revival of GODSPELL.

Regionally, he has appeared at The Old Globe, Pittsburgh CLO, the MUNY, and Philadelphia Theater Company. In concert, he has performed to sold-out houses all over the country, at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Hollywood Bowl,

The Magic Castle, San Francisco’s Feinstein’s At The Nikko Hotel, London’s Hippodrome Casino, NYC’s Feinstein’s / 54 Below, Tokyo’s La Donna, and San Diego’s Diversionary Theater. As a recording artist, he is featured on numerous original Broadway cast recordings as well as his own solo album releases - I’ll Cover You (2012) and Songs for You (2015) - both on The Yellow Sound Label.

His latest album release, SONGS FOR YOU, is also the name of his new concert show, a musical journey of songs and anecdotes with each tune being a special dedication to the people in his life that have helped him get to where he is today, personally and professionally.
